Hee hee at the blind comment.

It was an uncharacteristic error by me, but I'm (fat) man enough to admit I farked up. It's a learning experience, and it's a damn sight cheaper to repair the Cat than the S.

They would have let me on with the S, but every time I wanted to start the car it would need jump starting, and if I stalled out on track... so not a practical proposition.

S's battery's knackered mate. That's all it is for the Honda. When they go, they REALLY go. Don't bother with starters or plugs or owt until you swap out the batt.

Hindsight is always Crystal Clear.

But when things happen as fast as that, it doesn't matter who you are.

And how many racing drivers have totalled how many cars?

Being a bit overly harsh on yourself I think. Reflection is good, but only if you take away the positives.

Who knows, maybe what you did and how you dealt with the situation saved you from serious injury - which is surely the main relief

Ah, got you Mark - guess stalling would be an issue.

I'd check the charge on the battery just in case it is that.

Fair play for telling us all about it, hope it dosen't cost too much!

really sorry to read this Mark..

sounds like it was reasonably fast off.. so great you came out in one piece

metal can be fixed.. people can't..

and yes.. even the excess is A LOT cheaper than fixing an S

Cheers for the words guys.

I was probably doing about 80/90 ish when I went off, but the tyre wall was soft and I'd managed to avoid the tyre wall for at least 100m.

Could do without the expense, but considering how many track days I've done, I don't feel too bad. It's just inconvenient timing.

And Jonny and the guys were all ok (ish) about it. Stuart the mechanic wasn't especially happy, but I think that was mainly due the amount of cars he had to fix.

Really? Couldn't even jump start it today.
