I'm tempted with an AEM at the moment.

Anymore info on the unichip MB, fitting, tuning etc?

There was a DBW installation done successfully in scotland (I think!) but can't remember who had it done.

More information on the dastek website.

Well it's a piggyback so it will never be as good as a standalone, but on the plus side you keep all the OBD functions of the OEM ECU.

Fitting and mapping took about 4 hours.

I got a claimed 22bhp rise (before and after on the dyno) but never managed to get it on an independant one for testing.

Not quite sure it felt like +20 bhp, but it was certainly good. They didn't have the VTEC adjustment nodule back then, but I suspect they can do it now.

Apparently they dont use the MAP method of tuning now like they used to, from what i read they are similar to how a greddy emanage ultimate works.

Yeah im sure they do a DBW module now.

The only thing i dont like is the size of the box and the fact they splice into the existing wires

Thats a big power hike. You could bolt on loads of aftermarket accessories and spend a fortune and not get that sort of increase. I'm going to look into this.

I'm thinking, buy the AEM, get it tuned my Mase and run the car like that for a few months.

Then if I still crave more power get a turbo/SC and use the AEM.

Aj, you can get a Boomslang extension harness to hack into.

Bandit, that was with supporting mods of decat and exhaust, and a Gruppe M intake.

Jim, similar plan to me I think.
