I bought the bolts and I'll spend a saturday afternoon swapping them soon. I barely get up to 20mph on my daily drive so it should be fine till then.

I can also do the paperclip ECL check too, where it appears the UK cars can't. Looks like a defo JDM thing then.

Reading on the US forums they say that the difference in BHP is noticeable. I've only driven a few S2000s and they all feel about the same to me. I don't think a 3% power hike is going to be noticeable.

Resale might be a prob if you get the other one upto 100k.

I've always thought on the track I've had a very slight straight line speed advantage to other S2Ks, and another owner commented on this at Donington after following me up the straight. So maybe the JDM power increase is noticeable.
Err, there's quite a body weight difference between you and, say, Aquilaeagle. I reckon that would make more of a difference than the JDM engine

True, one guy was talking about running back to back dyno results .. but I'm sure a 8wbhp variation (which he mentioned) from car to car would be normal anyway.

But did anyone ever prove that was the issue? It's not like there's been no engine failures with the modification done.

Reading that thread, there's a dealer saying the oil bolt is nothing to do with the cylinder #4 scoring (which is the supposed problem), and some other doubt. Sounds like a lot of people have put 2 and 2 together to make 5. Not saying it isn't so, but I think people have seen failures and have been too keen to jump on this as an explanation.
IIRC, it was the explanation given by Honda at the time!

No4. failures were often associated with trackdays. And still are, in fact!

8 bhp variation would be a fair bit in percentage, 3 or 4 max I would say (assuming its Dyno Dynamics)
