[QUOTE=nickwrxstiv2,Jan 25 2007, 08:08 PM] I've decided it'll have to be UK! For various reasons, especially the oil bolt recall!

I've always thought on the track I've had a very slight straight line speed advantage to other S2Ks, and another owner commented on this at Donington after following me up the straight. So maybe the JDM power increase is noticeable.
Of course it's possible I'm just a driving God and carried more speed through the previous corner.
To be honest, the main reason I bought one was for the seats. But also those headlight washers look terrible, and the JDMs often have the super light BBS forged wheels (mine does). Maybe that's where the speed advantage comes from. Hmmm.
What I would say is that when all my current problems started, the Honda dealer told me they couldn't read the fault codes because mine was JDM and it wouldn't talk to their software. However, it didn't stop me reading them with a paper clip, and the AA being able to read them with their computer.
This oil bolt issue sounds like the old scaremongering over imports that used to go on a few years back. It can't be all that serious if they haven't done it for the Japanese or US markets.

Engines went pop. Honda saw fit to enforce it and there was a major furor on here with the US members at the time the European recall was actioned.
They wanted it too and a lot got it.
Oil starvation caused excess wear and eventual short block destruction

I remember the night mine was done. I couldn't sleep, I was like an expectant father.

Reading that thread, there's a dealer saying the oil bolt is nothing to do with the cylinder #4 scoring (which is the supposed problem), and some other doubt. Sounds like a lot of people have put 2 and 2 together to make 5. Not saying it isn't so, but I think people have seen failures and have been too keen to jump on this as an explanation.
