So if I get the registration of the car, do I just ring the local main dealer to check if the recall has been done? Will they still replace it even if it is a JDM model?

Nope, they wont want to know. It wasn't a recal in Japan or the US. I went and bought them (got the partnumber) and I'll be swapping them as soon as the weather cheers up.

The 10 bhp will come from the CR and also the ECU taking advantage of Japanese SUL which is over 100 RON. We dont have such fuel so I would guess a few bhp more at most.

Nick - As you know, the STi is a much different spec to a UK. Its a very very close spec with the S2000. I dont think there is enough advantage to buying a JDM to do so unless its cheaper than a UK - mainly as they may be more difficult to sell on. If you aren't fussed about that then go for it. Make sure you get one with full leather as people do expect it. Some prefer the half leather though.

Very very early car so check ALL the TSB's I'd worry about the oil bolt one as you will only have their word it's been done. I can think of two JDM's that have lunched engines recently because of this!

DBM - Thanks, I think I'll prefer a UK, deffo got to have full leather! I really like the colour silver with red leather, although black leather would still be OK.

It looks like my STI may be sold, had a guy view tonight and he wants me to keep it for him until Saturday. He's got the money in his bank, I wanted to wait till Sat as I have to remove my cherished plate.

There's a T plate JDM in the Autotrader with 27,000 miles, red leather for
