As to the compensation scheme; I believe this is for personal injury only and there is no way to claim for damage to a vehicle or loss of no-claims bonus (unlass Mark Turner says otherwise

This is a compay that deal with Road traffic accident litigation.
Check out the question "What if my vehicle has been hit by an uninsured driver?"

Here's another useful link, cribbed from Google, dealing with claims against the MIB:

Hmmm, Mark's link says, "...It must be noted that the MIB scheme exists only for providing compensation for personal injuries "
I can't read Steve's link as it loads twice on top of itself and then smears

It says that for an untraced driver, not sure what a dead driver would count as!
Anyway I'll quote for you "What if my vehicle has been hit by an uninsured driver?
The Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB) are paid for by the Insurance Companies and ultimately by those of us who do have insurance and they will deal with damage to vehicles arising out of uninsured driver cases. However, they do not pay the first

I have just read on the MIB site that they have two separate agreements with the government.
One for untraced drivers and one for uninsured driver. Both dealt with differently.
If the driver is untraced then basically they'll not pay if the driver is traced then you can claim for your car. No mention of a dead driver.

Been thinking of getting a Jap Import with a non standard exhaust (sounds nice but probably does not improve performance) and CRUX Susp. (what ever that it - height and damp adjustable according to owner), After a million or so calls to various insurance companies below is the best I found for a 37 yr. old with 5yrs. NCB an SP30 and a wife.
