Okay cool, thanks. I'll see if I can contact them

note ; Best match local tuner that does there specific ecu req and tuning, not other way round ie find somebody who tunes yours

Another update on the engine build itself-

Windage tray and new oil pump installed. Before this, I also installed new oil jet bolts.

Timing chain and guides, timing cover and sump installed
Ignore the mess in the background, the workshop was pretty busy on that day.

Head installed- New Toda timing chain and oil pump chain, and I already had a ballade sports TCT before the build.

You vs the guy they tell you not to worry about

Cams installed, Timing checked and valve clearances set

Valve cover on- Looking good!

Intake manifold, pulleys, VTEC solenoid and hoses installed. At some point in the future, I may replace the pulleys and clean up the intake manifold, but for now it will do.
So, With the exception of the throttle body and wiring harness, the engine is ready to be reinstalled. I may have it in the car on monday, and potentially first start next saturday- We'll see, depends if I have a base map ready by then.

Ballade TCT is known for overly high tension, make sure to check that before ruining such a nice setup.
I think they are usually fine on a slightly worn chain but with all new stuff beware.

Okay, thank you. Even with the upgraded Toda chain, is it too much tension?

I'm not sure how the Toda chain differs.
But on some engines it seems there is just not enough room to install the Ballade TCT even when fully retracted.
You could force it in while torqueing down the mounting bolts but it will result in way to much tension and destroy chain etc.
At least double check it out. Personally I would just replace it for the Toda or Blox TCT, just to be on the safe side.

Decided to order a Toda chain tensioner just to be on the safe side, thanks for the advice.

So, for a bit of an update

Got the engine dropped back in
For now, still running the standard intake and exhaust manifolds, however in the future I might upgrade these. Depends on how I feel, and if I can afford it haha
Before the rebuild, I already had a lightweight flywheel, but now I've got a 6 paddle clutch to go with it. Pedal feels nice and springy, hopefully it's not too grabby.
And, also removed the A/C compressor while I had the engine out - It didn't work before, and here in the UK I don't need it anyway.
So, all that's left to do is install an air intake, TCT when it arrives, then running in and mapping.
On the subject of mapping, A friend of mine recommended Jcal ecu calibration, said they do quite a lot of Honda stuff, so I've sent them a message.
Not too long now until it's back on the road!
