On OEM 16s, your choice is pretty much limited to S02s or Toyo Proxes as per the tech faq
If you're running 17s/18s the 04 bridgestones or Eagle F1 GSD3s are fairly popular

I'm running toyo t1r proxes and whilst the grip is phenomenal wet and dry, the sidewalls are too jellyish for me, so going back to so2's next time. However for an all rounder you'd be hard pushed to beat the t1r - on stock 16" rims. check the faqs for fitment.
The third option all-round in the right size is ContiSports. More expensive than the Toyos but cheaper than the Bridgestones, they've a very good wet-weather rep, stiffer sidewalls, but are designed to be harder wearing than Toyo or S02, so MAY not offer as much dry grip (Not tried them, was thinking about it but went for Toyos instead).
They're likely to be my next try-out on the S2000 next year...which I know doesn't help you now. But it's worth thinking about...they came 2nd to F1 GSD3's in the evo group-test. (Note: T1R not in that test, T1S only)

can't see a 16" option on their site? But ok if you are running 17's.

Either way, the -1's I've got on the Focus have been very impressive for both grip and longevity, and have felt fairly progressive for 40-profiles.
