Tyres....

Know of them, wouldn't recommend them for the S2000.
Have used them on Preludes and CRX's, not to much joy, nice tyre, but would stick with Bridgstones above those !!
Thinking re Avon ZZ3's or Yokohama's new offering on a spare set of wheels, but would not think re the Michelin Pilot Exalto's. Totally wrong style of tread.

I had Exalto's all round in the VTS and they were fantastic tyres in the dry, but awesome in the wet. They don't do an S2K fitment though, and to be honest I think they're designed for nimble little hatches like the Saxo/106 and wouldn't suit the S2K.
Potenza S02JZ's are perfectly suited to the car IMO.

On the topic of Exaltos (or Exalto 2 as they are now known - new tread pattern), I called up Michelin advice line 3 weeks ago for advice on tyres for the S2000, they advised Exalto 2 cos the new Sport 2 was not available in front tyre size for a year 2000 s2000 (don't know about 2004 model). I delberated buying them getting quotes etc (best quote from Britannia tyres in case you want to know - i think these guys are national?) but i plonked for Toyo T1-Rs for www. camskill.co.uk and got Honda to fit them when I picked up my new wheels (warranty claim).
100 miles on and they are fantastic. Anything's better than 3mm tread depth S02s and having to drive like a grandad to get anywhere in the wet and cold. I think the tyre choice depends on the way you use your car e.g. summer, all year round, commute, motorway etc. In my opinion and by compiling the thoughts over the net the Toyo T1-R and T1-S seem good all round runners for performance cars like the s2000.
I commute through suburbia 10 miles every day all year round and let loose the Vetec at weekends when I can.
Hope my tuppence helps.

Is there a better dry weather tyre for the S2000? Work fine for me in the winter months too, I just get new ones before the winter takes hold and always change tyres every 3-4mm.

Bridgestone S03s on my car have been very good to me. I has many probs with the OEM S02 during the last snow fall. I would go with the Bridgestone s03.

Just been told by a local F1 autocentre (know the manager) that the SO3 205/55/ R16 is no more ! Well thats what he was told by Bridgestone...
Thats another option gone then
Also told me that S02JJZ are on back order as are the SO3 245's !!! Bugger got a MOT due next week and front tyres that wont make it... Anyone know anywhere that has stock of the SO3's ?

What size did you go for on the rear - 245mm?
Most owners will probably go with what they know but I figured after the fun and games I had driving on a sprinkling of snow to my local shops over christmas, i'd sooner have a tyre that could get me there and back without the requirement for opposite lock or the constant concentration of dodging the puddles and slush all the damn time.
