Tyre wear - Is 5k miles acceptable?
#12
Depends how you drive.
I'd expect 5,000 but I have a reputation as a far king lunatic, although it's not exactly true.
If you drive sedately, 10,000 would be more like it and you probably could do with a 'tamer' chassis alignment. It's set up to corner hard and if you don't, the inner edges get stripped prematurely.

So, it depends both on you the driver and the roads you drive

I have tracked my S several times this year and driven about 5k miles in total - the Bridgestones are only half worn!. I'm no driving god so maybe I'm easy on the tyres, all the same...
How you manage to wear out tyres in 5,000 road miles I have no idea, I have yet to see an S2K drifiting on the road, most seem to be driven very sedately. The Toyo R888's on my Westfield last longer.
I would suspect a problem with the car or maybe the tyres - a friend had problem with Khumo's delayering at about 4K miles - just one of the reasons I'm a tyre brand snob!
