Tyre wear - Is 5k miles acceptable?
I may be a little hazy on technical details but can someone tell me is 5,000 miles about the average that rear tyres on my S2000 will last? The previous set laste just over this and the new set are going the same way? Does anyone else have a similar problem? The tyre pressures and tracking are fine so its not that.

Hi
When I lived in Scotland and most of my driving was on twisty roads at brisk pace, 5-6k was fairly normal. Now I'm down south and sitting in traffic I get far more from a set, so 5k may be a bit below average but i would say it is entirely probable depending on your driving style. My tyres were RE050s by the way.

Here we go:
"My tyres last 465 miles".
"My tyres lasted me 300 miles".
etc....
It will come as no surprise that my Toyos lasted about 15K inc half a dozen track days. However, I don't get the end out - I like to keep it neat and in control.
Chilled: Don't bother saying it - I've got you on my ignore list for the day

RE050s gave me 6k rear life and about double that on the front.
