Pete, was there a reason why you increased the footprint on the rear tyre, rather than both ?
Just wondering, because I'm changing mine in the next couple of weeks.

Rich, the info I gleaned from our ex-colonial subjects was that there was almost no physical difference in size between an S02 205/55 and an F-1 205/55 but that the 225 width of the S02 rear was close to 245 in actuality.
As the sidewall height is a percentage of the tread width (the aspect ratio), as you increase the tread width, you have to alter the aspect ratio, to try and keep the same sidewall height - hence a 225/50 becomes a 245/45 (the sidewall height being 50% of 225 and 45% of 245 respectively)

Ahahaaaaa - makes a lot of sense.
Based on that premise, if you where running 18" wheels, would you go for 225x40 front and 245x35 rear ?
Or have I just opened a large and unwanted can of worms ?
Cheers
