Default Tyre Help

Hi all,

I need to order four new tyres anyway as they've been getting closer to the legal limits, but yesterday I went out to a flat. Just looking locally, and F1 Auto Centre who found me through twitter said they have some in stock. I've ordered a complete set but slightly worried about the whole 'MZ' issue.

Rang them to ask and they have the 'A' and plain RE050 (which he assumed was the MZ?). Is that the case?

These are the fronts:

Bridgestone RE050 87W
215/45WR17

These are the rears:

Bridgestone RE050 91W
245/40WR17

Comes to £522 fitted. Can't seem to find many websites listing it specifically as the 'MZ' so am I safe to assume its the same tyre?

Thanks for any help, I know theres hundreds of posts on this (and i've searched) but came to no avail on whether these are specifically the ones I need.

Can't direct link unfortunately but the website is here... http://www.f1autocentres.co.uk/

I wouldn't assume they're the right ones without getting confirmed it actually says it on the tyres they'll be fitting

Should say RE050 MZ on the side wall

Just called and they're not the MZ's. Apparently he's spoken to Bridgestone technical and whilst the 'MZ' is a specific compound to the S2000, he said it'll be fine to run the others.

Not sure I agree with that considering i'm buying an entirely new set? According to them there on backorder and won't be available for 5 weeks......

Looked on BlackCircles.com and they have the RE050's in the correct size (and a 'H' Honda symbol) but doesn't mention whether thats the MZ. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction?

I've been running 17inch 'A's for the last year as MZ wasn't available at the time, I've had no issues and handling is fine, MZ would be better you just have to phone around till you find them. But unless you drive to the limit I wouldn't worry.

Stick to the MZ's. I'm sure the ones they have quoted you for will be fine but best to stick to the tried and tested compound.

I had no issues ordering up a set of MZ's about 6 months ago from my local place.

Here's what you want.

You can probably do better on the price if you shop around a bit. Alternatively you could go for a full set of the Falken FK452's, they are a bit cheaper and have excellent reviews from many on here.

Unfortunately they didn't have the 'A's either, was something for an Alfa? E something?

Just rang BlackCircles who had them in stock and confirmed they are the MZ's. Being delivered on Tuesday, and fitted at the same garage who quoted me a 5 week backorder...Not sure how well that will go down!
