Tyre Dilemma
Both of my front tyres have got a fair bit of tread on them (about 5mm) , but due to a track day and a 1st Lotus day, one of them has an abnormally worn shoulder.
I've got a couple of track days coming up and I need to get it sorted.
I'm running S02s all round and I recently acquired another set of wheels with almost new S03 Pole Positions the fronts.
Do I -
A: Put the S03s on the front and run with different treads front/rear.
B: Replace just one of the fronts and run with uneven wear.
C: Replace both fronts with S02s.
I think the sensible thing to do is to bite the bullet and go for C, but thought I'd get a few opinions first.
Thanks,
Graham

I wouldn't recommend running S02 rear/S03 front on a track. You might find the car does really weird things. I don't know how the S03 stacks up against the S02. Given that they're different enough for the manufacturer to call them something else I'd be very nervous.
Uneven wear on the front may or may not be a problem. I don't know if the S02s are handed tyres (i.e. whether there's a left and a right). If they aren't then you could put the worn tyre on the other wheel so that the shoulder wear affects that one and you replace it after the track day.
Otherwise I'd resort to replacing both tyres.

The SO2's are directional, so swopping would mean tyre changes, probably easier and cheaper to just go with option C.
Lot's of other cars have different fronts and rears, so I would do it.
But your decision at the end of the day.
If the SO2 is worn badly on the inner edge I wouldn't swop them over, you will have such little contact area until they have worn in, it would be dangerous.

Thanks people, decided I don't really want to cut corners and want the car to be spot on for the trackdays and have gone for option C. Event Mobile are fitting them Saturday.
I'm going to get some cheap and nasty rears for the other set and use them for airfield days where I'm not too bothered about different front/rear.
