A guy on type-r-scotland has just done 11.64@119 in his civic, but it's well modded.

Turbonator.
Smile of the day came from the RX8 owner when we were picking up the time slips, he wanted another drag against me as he thought we were quite evenly matched, you sure fella.

That Audi looks like an S4.
No shame in loosing to that - 2.7 V6 turbo Quattro! He could have chipped that further. I think they are 250bhp standard and with that wet track then the S4 was always a winner.
Your finishing speed was quicker than his and you wer catching - and quickly

Now that I'm home I've had a chance to look at the vids - there's more to come from that car. I mean no disrespect but your starts are not very good. You could easily get her into the 12s and possibly well into them if you were willing to employ a few tricks such as a burn out or running low psi in the rears and high psi in the fronts.

Santapod has a very sticky surface with loads of grip off the line, 3 of the 4 runs I bogged off the line, my 60ft times were shockingly shite.
Loads of people were boggin on their starts, even some of the big bikes did as well.
I think some clutch slip would be better than just dumping it, I'll try that next time when I go as well as lowering the rear psi, how much would you say?
The Audi bloke has said his S4 is running some stage 3 kit with about 420BHP, he did a 12.4 run before the run with mine but he forgot to turn off the traction control on my run.
I'd love to go to Crail again but its a long way home if something breaks or goes wrong.

If you have a standard clutch then a slip will result in you going nowhere and probably killing the clutch. The high grip surface will probably negate the requirement to lower the rear wheel psi. In fact, it might be the problem. The best way to launch an S2000 is to get the rears spinning and to carefully moderate that wheel spin with the throttle until she's starting to get good traction again and the revs are high enough to make good power. At crail this is fairly easy but I'd imagine it would be very difficult on a high traction surface. You'd have to dump quite a lot of revs into it and might cause shock damage or just rip the clutch appart.
If you try it and can't get the rear to break away then pump the rear tyres up really high then go again. You should get them to break free and also have the advantage of less rolling resistance for higher speeds

Taken on board what you have said and will give it a go next time.
Would bald tyres be any help in getting a good start?
Should be running 4.57 gears in the rear next time so that should see me in the 12's even with my crap starts.
