Hope you told your insurance company you now longer have an airbag

I'll be interesting to see what happens at MOT under the construction and use regs

MoT tests.... drive home after the test and it can be a fail by the time you arrive home... does that mean its a fail?

Once a year pop the oe wheel on....

Yeah, I would love to do this but I've been told that you shouldn't be able to pass MOTs now if you remove the airbag at all, whether or not you have the warning light delete or not. There is a loop hole where if you have a 'race/rally prepared' car, i.e. full cage, bucket seat and harnesses then you could pass but without that lot then in theory you shouldn't be able to pass.

My friend is an mot tester and the rules are "if it's not there to be tested then it cannot fail on it"

That's how we got the girlfriends caddy through it's mot when the headlights wouldn't work, took them out

I tell you what, aside from the obvious others, seats and a good steering wheel change the drive immensely. I always thought that the s wheel was too normal for the car it was.

I think you have done a cool mod there

In my original post I said that I have declared this wheel to my ins co and they are ok with it.

I also said that I know the OE wheel will need fitting for MOT. I work at a Honda dealer and I spoke to our MOT guy first and he confirmed that unless the car is extensively modified for competition then the airbag wheel must be on, indeed he even messaged VOSA for clarification.

So to sum up this mod will only work for you if your ins co are ok with it and your happy to refit the OE wheel once a year (I AM)

good luck
