Thing is; it needs a fair torque to seat the washer.
Take it out; you'll probably find the thrads fall off.
It happened on my X1/9 on the sump. I think some grease monkey
twat had massively overtightened it, because I had to use the jack to undo it!
I used clear silicone sealer, IIRC.

sorted guys thanks! got some liquid seal so far so good! no leaks so far, just a quick question the gearbox was hot is that normal i mean hot hot, will the liquid seal melt? or am i bein stupid now?
