Track day - is this a good deal?
My local lotus/Ferrari dealer is doing a track day that i was going to attend with a mate in his s2000 (he's not on the forum ).
This will be our first track days so local, well managed and no idiots (idiots in ferrari's are at least more likely to be careful idiots?) is important.
The deal is

For Open pit lane numbers of between 55 and 60 are usual, however the oraganisers will also have a number in mind for the number allowed on the track at one time, that number will determine the size of the queue or how busy the track is.

From what I remember 60 cars is about normal at Combe on a sessioned day.
About 20 cars on track each session, so it's more likely to be 20 minutes on track per hour. With instruction

Thank Guys,
Sounds like a goer then..
I agree with MBK's point about the really high power machines and the badge snobs, but I'm hoping that it will be mostly Lotii (are you about October 16th MB?) rather than footballers in exotica.
While i'm on.. i've a full set of part-worn green stuff pads that came with the car when i bought it - is it worth putting them on for the track day?
cheers
Simon

Get a set of red stuff if you want EBC.

I will hopefully be going Si - i've not done Coombe yet.
I'm not that keen on sessioned events though. As to the standard, i'd guess it will be pretty low as it's mostly a customer day out for Westover. Should be some exotic stuff there htough!
Wouldn't use the green stuff's on track myself.
Be good to see my S2000 again!

You'll probably find it's 12-15 cars max. per session & usually about 15 mins per session.
I've done many track days at CC (being my local track) albeit in my 170bhp Dolly Sprint. It's a fast track, as has been said, but watch out for Quarry! or it'll bite you in the arse. I find at these type of track days behaviour on the track is very good and usually the slower car in front will move over to let you by, plus you probably won't be allowed to overtake into the corners & chicanes.

Pads going in the bin then...
Be good to see you MB (still need to get those wheel nuts off you) and the exige and finally get some s2000 handling tips from you .
you won't see much difference to the S - a new stereo, reg plate, Muz carpets, and a stone chip respray is all i've done
