Default Toyo Proxys hard to locate

Hi,

After Bridgestone discontinued the very nice S02s I switched to Toyo Proxys.
Looking for a new pair for the rear today I really struggled to find any, some sites didn't even let me select size 16 after 245/45 and the 1 site that accepted the order called me back to say they couldn't actually source them.

Anyone else having the same problem ?

Thanks.

You'll really struggle to get them in that size. In fact, there are very few tyres manufactured in that size full-stop. I just stuck with the Bridgestone sizes (225/50) for my last two sets of rears.

EDIT: Or you might not really struggle.

etyres said they had them but when i asked them to check i was told zero in stock

Thanks for the replies, event tyres is too far for me I am based in Leeds.
Ok so it looks like I will have to go 225/50/16 on the rear then but reading around it seems its ok to keep the Toyo Proxes on the front which still have lots of tread left.
Can anyone recommend any specific Brand please? I did try the Bridgestone RE050 once upon a time and hated them.
I loved the S02s!

Cheers!

You can use the Toyo Proxes in that size. Nothing wrong with them, aside from the wear rate.

Doubt you'll notice a difference. They're only 4mm wider than your knackered ones.

try blackcircles if not always try ebay!

But have you thought about a different brand? Im running firestones and find them to be a very good all rounder.

I've had the same problem with 245/40/17's as well for my rears, ordered them off camskill and got the same sort of e mail reply. I couldnt find them anywhere else in stock either so ended up ordering a set of Eagle F1 Asymmetric's instead.

RE050A?

Much better than the jelly sidewall T1R in my experience (on 17" wheel admittedly)
