Default Tow eye

Bit of a silly question, but where can I get the OEM toe eye from ?

I got stuck in 8 inches of snow tonight, but couldn't get towed out cuz the eye is not in the boot.

Failing that, is there anywhere else on the car I can attach a tow rope (for future reference)

BTW, I think the S2000 is quite possibly the worst car to drive in snow. I got stuck in the most random places this afternoon. anyone else have the same problems ?

Have you tried a dealer? May not be too expensive for a toweye, assuming you can buy it seperately.

May be a standard Honda car part of course.

You will also need the extension piece for the either the front or rear where the socket is inset.

Not sure about where else to attach a tow rope.

Yes it is generally poor in snow - depends on what tyres you are running - weight in the boot helps, ie a bag or two of sand from B&Q.

Try a breakers yard coz they'll be plenty of S's in at this time of year.
Also try and get some weight in your boot coz that helps A LOT!

Not having a go at you OP but why do people say this? Ive found it to be totally the opposite. No sideways moments, no issues, nothing!

People (me included before i bought my car) will probably read this forum and crap themselves that as soon as they get to winter, the car will be useless.

All ive found is that the car is only as good as the driver and the tyres its fitted with! Fit the car with some decent tyres and the driver with common sense, and you will breeze through

Thanks guys.

@ James, no offense taken bud. What I mean is, getting stuck on slight uphills, when other cars just drive off past you.

Once you are going, its ok provided you know how to handle the sliding, which i must admit is awesome drifting @ 8mph. i LOL'd all the way to work this afternoon.

Definately going to load the boot up tomorrow morning, thanks for the tip

What tyres do you have on Jon? Standard Bridgestones are useless! Whilst I cant comment on them on the S2000, on my civic type r, the RE050's were terrible in even a light dusting of snow!

Maybe a few bags of rock salt in the boot might help, then you have the weight, and also have the means of salting the road or areas if you do get stuck

S2k on winter tyres is sublime! Its actually really good fun and tackles everything this winter has thrown at it. I overtook a 4x4 going up a snowy/icy 1 in 10 hill yesterday. You should have seen the look on his face, haha!

The towing eye is a standard fit lifting hook, I think M12, if you look at any rigging equipment for lifting, so think trade centres and DIY stores (?), you will probably find a towing eye for like £2 rather than stealer prices!

I am not totally sure on the size, I will check later.

See here for towing eye from a dealer http://www.hondaoriginalparts.com/honda_ca...&block_03=19250

You need parts 1 and 2, all for the huge amount of £20.

I have two towing eyes and two extensions - but I can only find polystyrene homes for one. What am I missing?
