I am thinking of investing in a torque wrench...........where can you buy them?

cheap one = no point

A torque wrench has to accurate to be worthwhile. If you blow your head gasket 'cos the torque wrench was over-reading you'll feel a prat. If you snap off a bolt because it was under-reading you'll be

I don't use them much - so I hire them when I need one.

I take my wheels off to clean them so figured a torque wrench would be useful

Go to a proper hardware store (remember them?) - most are now on industrial estates these days.

do you think it's overkill? thing is never sure if they are tight enough and worried about doing them up too tight

could also come in handy regards the wretched hub nut

Depends if you have the cash really Paul, I use one on the wheel nuts when I'm racing but it's belt and braces where that's concerned.

If it put your mind at rest and you can afford it, go for it (but don't buy one from Hellfords, get advice at a proper tool reseller or hardware place, look in yellow pages).
