Re stability at high speed, "apparently" if you do 113 kph and have fronts worn right down on the outside of the tyres because you swapped them side to side a bit later than you should have, the car feels a bit .

In my experience, unless you have at least 5mm all over, on every tyre, the car feels a bit at any speed! It seems to have rather twitchy 'bump steer' qualities on anything less than new tyres.
If your tyres are wearing to the point where you would even 'consider' swapping them from side to side, it might be better to change them for new and get the geometry checked out at the same time.
