I have heard of someone going through the Hatfield Tunnel reaching 144 indicated (must have heard this down at the pub). Sounded good (allegedly)

Blimey Roadie! Did you have to deploy the parachute to ensure that you completed your braking before you ran out of island?

I might (or might not ) have seen 150 indicated late at night on a certain long straight stretch of northern motorway with roof down, with revs left in reserve. It might (or might not!) have been very blowy indeed!

Do all your "friends" like prison food?

A few months ago I was speaking to a magistrate from the Mersyside area who deals with a lot of motoring offences. He said that double the speed limit would more likely than not mean a short stay at her majesty's pleasure as far as he was concerned.

I don't know about you lot, but I don't fancy spending a month crapping in a bucket followed by 2 months walking like John Wayne. - too risky IMHO.

Hmmm.....I'm inclined to agree with euan here.
I hope you guys ARE referring to track times and speeds.

I know I've been known to break the limit on occasion ( ), but some of the speeds posted do seem a little silly if done on the public road.

(euan......have you got a spare flame suit? )

Honestly, don't you guys know our loose acquaintances and their penchant for driving on derestricted sections of Germany's autobahn network in dry conditions and light traffic?

Seriously guys, speed kills.
We're all the walking dead.

From my personal point of view, I don't feel the need to repeat the experience, been there, done that, got the sweaty palms.. They are a bit stricter about that sort of thing on the continent these days.
