Default Top Gear magazine's focus on scamera detectors

I have just received my regular emialing from Top Gear Web Club and there are some nice features this time e.g. The Aston Martin DB9 :rubsthighsindelight:

Also there is a feture on radar detectors....

Top Gear magazine on line (Radar)

Might be of some use to stop us paying more fines / getting any points

Not that any of us upright members of the community have any points

Good info.

i think i will be going for origin B2 next time round.
What it does not tell you is that the RA database is shite and is not updated as much as it should be and they do not use your data either.

My view is that you can't prevent everything. I also believe that the most increasing type of speed detection device is the fixed camera and it'll be a while (if ever) before their numbers reduce.

I've just fitted (last night) a Morpheous Micro Road Pilot.

Top quality piece of kit and has already told me of a speed camera 3 miles from my house I was unaware of (new installation).

They are the things I worry about most, roving plod with pistols I can't prevent but the camera's are now one less worry leaving me free to spot the revenue generating vans.

Money well spent for a high quality piece of kit

I my experience those roving plods use radar or lazer like the last one who got a nice wave as i cruised past.

The ones to look out foor are the truevelo's and autovision that use strips in the road. If the gps is kept up to date then these should come up as a warning.
Unlike the RA did when in wales ( SM3) and then to find out they knew about that site but were waiting till the begining of the year to update the database all in one hit

Plus if you check the net the police have to put the locations of the mobiles up anyway and there are also plenty of website that have the locations marked as well.

I think the road pilot one is good. I synchronised the new unit last night and followed its directions to a new camera. It told me about the camera (Gatso) which was still covered in plastic and therefore not yet operational.

Now that's proactive !!
