I s it true that some manufactures are notorious for filling the boot of the test car with hampers, bottles and other goodies?

I couldn't possibly comment! I do know of one writer who sold a GPS handset on ebay though - made quite a profit, considering he didn't pay for it in the first place...

I read EVO, but i totally agree with the comment that it's completely up its own arse. It has developed a really sanctimonious attitude - all this "essence of evo" rubbish.

It also has the same really really annoying habit that all car mags have - when anything new comes out they claim it's the best thing ever (ok, with the exception of the S2000), based on what appears to be a 2 hour drive on public roads. 6 months later it's totally last-years-thing and full of handling problems.......

A good example of this is this weeks Autocar, with a review on 50 open top cars, I have read the s2000 comments and still can not my mind up what these dicks are trying to say. Cramped cabin, what the f%&k is that about, they are so far up their own arse it must be making their eyes water
