TomTom GO Sat Nav Update
For anyone that is considering a new sat nav or speed camera GPS system for the S....... you may want to consider the TomTom Go now that its been updated to allow addition of extra Points Of Interest.
Basically this means you can now add the UK "safety" camera database to the GO with the added bonus that you can tell it to warn you (lots of different sounds are available and the distance from the POI can be changed) when you approach.
I tried it today after installing the updated software and it works a treat...... the camera database also seems to be accurate enough to not warn you about cameras on the other side of the road.
The new update also means you can add/edit your own POIs and upload various other POI databases from the internet.
Full details of the update here:

Is the TT Go any good - the reviews which I've read have been positive ? Where do you mount it in the S ?

iPaq is the way to go if your company can buy you one (and reclaim the vat).
You then need a tomtom holder, which I got for

Thanx, will update mine today.
TT Go is good overall, there have been some inaccuracies, as the maps are maybe a bit dated (~ 1 year) and some errors on road names. Expect updates for those.

So for speed cameras on my route it beeps 200 yards before them...... and for BP or Shell stations it plays a bugle 2 miles before to let me know theres one coming up soon.
There are about 10 different noises so in theory you could have ten different warnings set up
I mount mine on the dash using velcro...... it sits very neatly just above and to the left of the rev counter....... dead easy to set up!
