So are the VXT that much quicker?

What's the comparison between the VXT and your Trev? Might have to go for a test drive

I didn't find the VXT that quick (but I couldn't see the speedo from 70-110) although I didn't get the best opportunities to test it out. I certainly thought it should FEEL faster being so small and low to the ground. Maybe I had a crap one to test?

Either way it was a bit too small for me

You'll be fine Rich.

Any suggestions for an MP3 head unit bearing in mind:

- interface with dash controls
- Will be used to power speakers (except sub)

the one further up the page (a sig only appears once per page - I do hate it when I have to correct the young 'uns ).

I was actually surprised by how good the ride was, and was also probably expecting it to feel faster than it did, with a horrendous bone-jarring ride, but if anything the ride was probably smoother than the Trev.

The 2 litre turbo engine felt v torquey with such little weight to move, and I understand that it is very easy and cheap to boost a standard VXT by 50 bhp or so, which will then seriously threaten most things on the road - I think Steve54 has looked into the power mods available and could tell you more.

As it was, and with full view of the speedo, the standard VXT was certainly pdq to 100.

If the trev let me down badly in the future, then I'd be very very seriously tempted to find a 2nd hand one of these with a couple of years manu warranty left.

Could that have been a sarcastic reference to the fact your sig takes up the whole page?

In the VX I had the Sony MD unit powering a pair of infinty 17cm component speakers - seemed to do quite a good job, i could at least hear them at 110 with the top off!

Also powering off the head unit is straight forward. Change the head unit, change the speakers and done. ie avoids working out how to get wires from amp to speakers in the doors. Another idea would be to upgrade door speakers but still power them off the head unit then get 5 channel amp to power some more speakers being the head rest....... quite tempting.

Still tempted to keep sony MD head unit for now - other than the different format what's wrong with this?
