I was quoted over £3k for a coulour change

I have a rough idea of cost and have budgeted £2.5k - £3k for the job.

How about Cadbury's purple (like the foil wrapper)... i saw a Capri in this colour and boy it made the Capri look stunning.

Or that ultra bright flourescent green on the Focus RS, that's a love or hate "look at me" colour, a bit like electric orange.

I think the grey you're looking at is just a shiny Moonrock. Lush though, have to admit. If you paint the thing white, you can bet it will sell when you need to shift it. JDM white s2000's are like hen's teeth, and very much a wanted colour. Your mileage is nothing really, its only just broken in plenty left in that F20 yet

FERRARI GRIGIO SILVERSTONE colour for me, bear in mind that it will look brill as its been all polished up etc .

£2-£3k on an MY99 with that mileage?

Part exchange the car for a nice shiney Berlina, put the 3k towards that.
