If you still have an issue which is specific to the S, place your accelerator foot to the right and you'll hit the pad there, when you accelerate now and hit a bump the extra friction of you foot on the pad helps the kangarooing.
I'd forgotten that I do that.
Sort of cruise control.

Now I dont want to overstate this, but.....
I tightened the throttle cable today and WHAT a difference its made to the car. The cable had lots of slack which has been reduced now.
Result is a more torquey and fast ride.
Unbelieveable....

I tightened mine a few weeks back when I installed the K&N FIPK.........but did notice there is almost no room to tighten any further......if it gets slack again, what then? Do I need to get in there with wire cutters etc?

Just been out to check mine, over an inch either way (so does that equal 2inch?)
Tightened so there is about quarter inch either way (above and below the straight line where it would sit if tight etc).
Will test tomorrow and see how we go, but as far as I can see, surely with that amount of slack meant that the throttle never got to wide open?!?

Mine goes just over a CM each way now and I dont think mine was ever fully open.
I just drove from Suffolk and its made a big impact on the higher gears. 5th and 6th pulls much harder.
In London I was much more happily beating people in 1st and 2nd. Hardly Vtec'd in the whole journey as I dindnt need to as much. Feels like a proper fast car now.

If you dont have an assistant, and you want to check you are getting full throttle,
then prop the bonnet and stand out of the car with the foot on the accelerator.
You can hear an audible mettalic tap as you press quickly down to full throttle and the butterfly on the engine opens hard against it's stop.
Too much slack and the pedal hits the floor pad before full throttle.
(Or the carpet if there is something there which shouldn't be!)
