Thoughts on front upper and lower bracing
#11
I managed to get the Spoon rear lower brace and front upper brace at a good price. So looking to buy a front lower brace to finish this off.
Which ones would you recommend? Spoon or Muz for the front lower? And why?

I've got just a Muz lower brace, feels a bit sharper and seems easier to tell what's going on at the front.
As I'm not intending on doing (m)any more track days in the car I might even sell it soon.

I have the Muz front lower. I thought it was a big improvement at the Ring, but I'm not sure I'd say it was worth it just for road use. I always thought the S was stiff enough on the road, it was only going to The Ring at Easter that changed my mind. It was a hell of a lot more stable over the bumps on high speed corners with the brace.
Rear lower is tempting.

I had the top brace on first of all, little difference. When the bottom brace on the difference was marked,
I've fitted both the tower strut brace and the cusco lower brace myself so it aint that hard.
You need to make sure the car is flat when you fit them.
I gave the garage round the corner a tenner to let me use their lift to fit the lower brace.

I'm in the midst of suspension tweaks.
I have a Cusco front upper tower brace, I don't think that has made much difference.
I have a Whiteline lower X brace. That has really improved the turn in when driving hard.
I'm putting Nitron 25mm lower coilovers on next.
I've toyed with the rear braces (top & bottom) and stiffer anti roll bars.
Having researched this through the Autocrossing guys on the main forum the consensus seems to be leave the rear alone as the braces cause it to give less notice of letting go with out improving the handling much.

This is the cheapest I have found. anyone know the typical shipping cost for one of these?
Thanks

Oh,
I did the rear brace lying on the garage floor (I was feeling particularly exhausted one Saturday, I felt like an excuse to lie down!) - you reach in between the exhausts & there is no need to lift the car.
