^^^^ thats what i did for my f20c powered kit car. i bought a complete cat d write off for £3k from copart. i stripped it down completely and fitted engine + loom, box, diff, shortened propshaft, full steering assembly. i am now on with selling the parts and i already have re-couped around £2k and i still have some bits left over. i was lucky in the fact that my interior and roof were perfect as the car had only done 25k miles.

i completely agree with vortx f20c as i found a rear ended s2k for £4k and all i wanted was the engine,
could easily of made £3k for the rest of the spares so if you got the funds buy a whole car mate for spares

Gary, i can totally appreciate what you are saying. You never know what you are buying, but if you know who you are buying from, and the motor is in the car running with 30k on the clock, chances are you are going to be getting a pretty decent engine.

Im liking the idea of buying a write off car, its just being able to fork out £4k to get the write off, its almost like an investment. Like the idea though.

Any idea where one would source a smashed donar car ?

i actually looked into ls1 or ls2 conversion and i wreckon it can be done for about £1k more then it would cost to replay a f20c but you completely ruin weight distribution and handling so i went for another f20c,

i also looked at 2.4 duratec and sr20turbo engines
