As much as I love the 350Z I think when push comes to shove I wouldn't touch a Nissan - I've removed them completely from our company car list as the X-Trails we've had on all of them have required in the past 1-2 years a new turbo and/or intercooler - one of them needed 3 in the first year - the after sales care is completely rubbish - spent more time in the garage waiting for parts than it did out on the road.

When it came to leasing some I actually insisted on a dealer out of the county in order to avoid our local one.
That is actually shocking; they only managed to establish their dreadful little cars over here based upon reliability.

There was me thinking that Nissan build quality might rub off onto Renault; obviously it was the converse that was true. What a shame.

Before I got mine I was considering:

VX220 turbo
elise
SLK
Z4
Boxster

I didn't even consider the S until i drove past one that was parked up I'd almost forgot they existed luckily it all worked out and I'm happy with my choice.

I wouldn't say that. If anything, for what it is (i.e. 2.0 N/A FWD coupe) the FTO is even more special than the S. It's just a shame they stuck most of them with auto boxes. That really spoiled any true performance car street cred they might have had.

Once you get to love these high revving engines it limits your choices. After I sold my FTO, I test drove a couple of Elises, but the engine in particular felt like I'd gone back 50 years in automotive terms. Then I tried an S, and it was exactly what I was missing.

What part of Cornwall matey !! From down there myself!! As far down as you can go !!The Lizard! In Fact this year me Mum told me that some chap tried to go a little further !!His motor was in the drink!! It lasted two days The sea gave it a dame good sorting !

I like what you say !!

What always amuses me, as with the Impreza, is how everyone has to challenge you. It's pretty amusing stuff if you can really drive and fancy a play (which I normally do) as a lot of people percieve it as a poseurs toy when driven by middle aged guys out on a Sunday. Still, that is normally down to ignorance, most are aware of its existance but few seem to realise its potential in the right hands.

Go buy one, you will like it.
A lot.
