Default Thievin' b*gg*rs!!

This didn't happen to me (thank God!) but happened to my boss on Good Friday and I thought I'd share.......just to remind us all to take care of our cars.

1. Decide to take daughter to local swimming pool on Good Friday (4pm)
2. Take nice new 318i Coupe
3. Park up, pay entrance fee, get changed, lock stuff in locker, go swimming
4. Nasty people in car park spot your car, follow you in and watch you
5. Nasty people jimmie open your locker when coast is clear
6. Nasty people nick wallet and keys, and then drive off in your car

Nightmare!!!!.

Apparently this happened at the Aquadrome (?) near Sandhurst/Basingstoke area?. A Mercedes had been nicked from the car park the week before.

Not a huge amount you can do to stop this, short of keeping your keys on you at all times (bit tricky when you're swimming?!).

Take care out there!..........my feeling is that our cars are a lot more desirable (and therefore nickable!) than a 318i Coupe!.

Not sure about the nickable. Usually the theiving scrotes will 'clone' the car, i.e. use another car of the same make/model/colour's licence plate. A lot easier with a common car, e.g. a 318i, than a car that shifted 1100 units in all of last year. Not to say it won't happen, just may not be as likely.

This sort of thing proves my point.
Why are thatcham so anal about black jacks and other anti hijacking devices

It would stop this kind of theft which means they would have to tow or lift the car.
