We will have to agree to disagree!

I don't think bunging on a very long pipe and a filter on the end can do that much that you would notice it.

I felt very in tune with my car, and the only thing I noticed when taking my Mugen exhaust, decat and manifold off, was the weight.
I guess we will

Just to re-iterate the instructors jumping in our cars noticed the difference, surely this is an impartial opinion by experienced (race) drivers.

To the OP I think I would buy a second hand or new AEM that runs low to the front of the car drawing in cold air, rather than one that is placed inside the engine bay drawing in warm air from the engine.

I think the answer will be amusing and not based on fact!

Point taken.

Is there any cahnce it could just sound faster? Those AEM things do sound very good.

You know like when passengers scream and grab onto things when you VTEC, as opposed to doing the same speed in a quiet turbo car and they don't bat an eyelid

[QUOTE=s2k_Nut,Sep 29 2008, 07:15 PM] Quite a few ponies, the throttle response is awful with the airbox lid off, and the sound is nothing compared to a snorkel sound. For

That has reminded me - Ian's car is very noticably faster than any NA S I have been in. It does have my J's manifold on it though

It really pulls well.

They do sound faster, no doubt. But you do miss the point that at the drift day we never get out of second gear at best, and unless you are a nutter like puppy rarely go into VTEC either, so the instructors are only noticing the difference up to 5.5 or 6K, and they noticed enough to comment compared to a stock S.
