Default Is TGM any good for bodywork?

Hi my brother in law wants to get his silverstone silver s2000 resprayed and asked me if i know of any decent body shops.

What's TGM like? I know a lot of people use them for mechanical work but haven't heard much on the bodywork side

Thanks

Vixen had some pretty serious work done on her car, some info here: https://www.s2ki.com/...st__p__22667316

Send her a PM to see how the car has fared after a couple of years.

I think that the body shop is run by Tom's brother and isn't technically TGM.

They're not a dedicated body shop. In my experience they won't return your calls. I have had excellent results with Canada Coachworks in Byfleet in the past as an alternative.

I had a chat with Tom's brother recent as I'm planning full respray and removal of bubbles/rust. I get the impression he's a perfectionist and wants it done right, or not at all. They refused to fit and paint an ill fitting aftermarket lip before as it would have looked bad.

Some people make take issue with a service provider refusing to do what the customer wants. I see this more as an artist not being prepared to compromise and do less of an ideal job. I'm more than happy with that.

I know a couple of members have had resprays there (C7 JFW I think) and the results looked very good, but then I'm no expert.

would not have been cost effective no doubt, think they take a life time to fit,
still look sh1t with cost aprox £300 just for fitting without paint =no brainer really

I'm not sure how it works with TGM, I thought they outsourced their body shop. Is that outsourcing to his brother then ?

TGM is a garage and bodyshop.

Will is a perfectionist, his work is superb and I've had lots of stuff done there over the years. They used to paint and prep Overfinch Range Rovers, they also paint for various Formula race teams. In addition they are fully insurance approved for repair work.

For any of you chaps who've had rear wheelarch work done at TGM, what was the ball-park cost please? I'm shopping around to have mine done at the moment and I've read various threads with widely differing costs and quality of work. I'm expecting to need the rust to be cut away and new metal to be welded in place (so I know it won't be cheap) and I like the idea of a 'perfectionist' doing the work so it will be a permanent fix. Cheers

I know they were working on Bruno Senna's Formula e car at one point, and some Astons when I last visited. I'm going to use him.

TGM are brilliant, mechanically and with paint. All done in house but outsource mapping.
