Default Tested the ABS tonight!

I was driving home from work when a guy in a Range Rover pulled out from a side road on my left when I was all but a few meters from it.
I was in total disbelief. Everything was in slow motion. The Range Rover loomed infront of me. I thought that I wasn't going to stop in time but somehow I stopped with about 6 inches to spare.
Arseh*le drove off as if nothing had happened. Passers by looked stunned.
Thank God I was driving at 30 (I always do on that road as there is a school and 2 Gatsos).

I'm still wondering how he failed to see me (Drugs? Sitting too high up and me too low down? Blind?)

Oh well I'm please I was in the S2000 and not the Accord. I think I would have hit him otherwise.
The brakes were fab - no drama just stopped progressively. Luckily no one behind otherwise it would have been a different ending.
What is it about the Summer? The last few weeks have been unbelievable. The same thing happened to me and my colleague on the way to work (larger distance involved) but in his old MGB an emergency stop is a brown pants experience.

Wondering which car to drive tomorrow.....

What's the difference between a Range Rover and a hedgehog?

With a hedgehog, the pricks are on the outside

I also tested the ABS on Weds night - bloke pulling out too fast from behind a wall onto the road near Poole hospital.

Both myself and my passenger were amazed how the car stopped almost instantly in very, very little space - the car pulling out was still 3 metres away when I had stopped.
The driver just looked vacantly at us, held up his hands and shrugged his shoulders, then waved us forward.

It would have been truly scary in the Fiesta.

What have Range Rover drivers and bad lovers got in common?

They both pull out on you at the wrong time!

Like that
It's interesting that the moral fairy doesn't like Sc**thorpe but doesn't bat a wing at this.
