Post Test Pipe on otherwise stock exhaust

Someone asked for my opinion on this and I feel I'm ready to speak on the matter. I recently added the decat to my otherwise stock exhaust at a grand cost of around

thanks for that SaxoBoy, I'm probably going to revert back to my stock exhaust as my T1-R is too loud for Donington sound limits so I was interested to hear whether it was worth me keeping hold of my test pipe. I may just sell the T1-R and text pipe together as the test pipe does remove a lot of the 3.5K exhaust drone.

My first MOT is in December, but I may be minded to try the test pipe in the interim IF I can get the studs out of the cat (thereby making it far easier to swop the cat back in prior to the MOT) without damaging the cat itself. Anyone done this successfully? I have seen reference to using a blowtorch and a big hammer!

My conclusion is that de-catting a stock S is a waste of time.

I can understand it on turbo lump where the cat's restrictive, but not on a n/a lump with a high-flow cat installed?

Maybe someone can enlighten me...

But the studs are welded in, I don't think plusgas will work I've had the cat on and off a couple of times, its just a pain trying to force the exhaust towards the rear of the car to pop the cat away from the exhaust
