Default Techy Alarm

Unfortunetly with my love for cars comes my love for gadgets.....Oh dear!

Well have been talking to a friend and he has a mate who does alarms for a living. Apparently this guy thinks that Clifford alarms are rubbish, and go off all the time even when temp drops. Any one had any prior experience with big names alarms on the S2000?

Well apparently he fits his alarms from other companies and can pretty much put anything on the outputs. He can do engine start, and all other fancy clifford features......I was talking about Blackjax, remote engine start, auto lighting....etc

I think I may get a quote from him

I had a Cobra on mine. Very reliable, although the range of the transmitter was disappointing. Also, the transmitter looked like a big apostrophe and to be honest, a bit gay, like one big black testicle hanging off my keyfob.

It only had two buttons (lock/unlock and alarm) so it couldn't work the remote boot release which was really poor.

I had heard poor comments regarding Clifford, but that was several years ago. Don't know what their current range is like (or Cobra's for that matter).

Yeh I have seen those cobra fobs...they are in a grey colour.

I have heard loads about Cliffords, apparently they just have a good name and with most things they end up not being all that good. I had a mate with a Cobra alarm and he thought it was great, but again didn't do much.

I fancy having a bit of remote engine start, boot release sounds good to me, and maybe (Not sure what it is called) but when you can click one of the buttons and all the lights come on for a few like 10 secs when you approach the car in the dark.

Gadget's are great but if your car needs cat 1 for insurance, engine start will mean you won't have it
