If they wont budge, can try going down the route of the consumer sales of goods act 1979.
It states that the item needs to be suitable for use and fit for purpose up to 6 years. If they say its fit for use, just argue that a rattle is not part of the designed use. Hence it has "failed"

To be honest, I would be surprised if you cant get it replaced under honda 12month warranty.
no doubt about it should have lasted longer than it has, but I don't think the act specifies exactly how long something should last other than goods should last for a reasonable time and in reasonable condition

Whereabouts are you?

If you can make it to North Herts over the weekend I could sandblast and drill the TCT for you.

Thanks for all the help guys, I think I'm gonna go the ballade route and do it myself, something I should have done on the first place!
Everything mentioned is what I suspected, apparently they had an S2000 owner in for the same work and that was the recommended fix from Honda UK.
What oil should I be using?, I've got what's left of a can of halfords 5w40.

Thanks again for all the help

As said, Castrol edge seems a good choice at the moment. I'm currently on Fuchs titan pro s but i'm going to try Shell helix ultra next and see how it goes

Personally, i always buy decent quality oil and put the cost to the back of my mind.
