I drive my S2k like I stole it, however I normally get between 170-200 miles from £30 which is about 35mpg-ish. 90% B road 10% Motorway.
The worst I have ever seen was when I picked up and drove it home when I bought it.
I never fill up more than £30 at a time, 1.) because im poor as hell and earn pittance and 2.) £30 is half a tank and that can last me 2 - 3 weeks.
As for the cars fuel bars going up and down mine always seem to go up 1 or 2 when the car is warm and been running about 15mins, and i can guarantee when I turn it off and leave it for and hour+ it will loose about 1 -2 bars. I find if I am really poor and worried about fuel, I park it facing down hill with a camber to the left, this seems to give the car an extra bar or two for some reason!

I've filled up tonight for a long journey tomorrow and I had one bar left and put in 42.84 litres (third click) which I have used over 300ish miles, resulting in 32mpg! The fuel gauge is weird man! It's all over the place sometimes.
