In the currrent climate i am surprised they turned the work away. If you have a search on here then you will see others have done this done foc. I can't see how they can dismiss something that is an intermitant fault, Very little chance they will replicate this. I would call another honda dealer with your chassis number and see if they can check against honda Uk. That's what my dealer did.
Apparently it's a faulty batch of gearboxes fitted to a range of cars identified via the chassi number. mine was smack in the middle of the production run.
honda UK are aware of this!

Mine did this the other day I thought it was my imagination, my car is just out of it's 3 year warranty period, is it a warranty job or a recall?
My question is will they still sort it?

Great reply Ian_6301 - thanks.
As a service requirement according to the Honda schedule, what age / mileage should the gearbox oil be replaced? I've never seen or had this done to any of my cars.
They always seem to be very tuned into recommending brake fluid replacement every 2 years but not g/box oil.

Yes, the box plug has a magnetic tip.

As far as I am aware it has not been done as a recall but dealers have had a bullitin advising them of the problem. Would have thought it would still be done if out of warrenty as they are admitting it has been afault on certain cars from manufacture
