You will not believe how much better your car is with a decent set of coilovers on. KW V3, Bilstein PSS9 or Nitron Sport Spec, you will love your car afterwards

I always figured OEM parts would be just as pricey as some brands of coilovers (I've seen reasonable manufacturers around the

I'd not recommend earlier springs on the facelift cars as a first choice, unless cost is a factor. For one, they changed the wishbones on the 17" and also the components are likely old and abused.

I'd take the components from an '09 (ours ARE the CR/Type-S ones!) and they have upped the rates closest to the original settings for that.

Probably still cheaper than Nitrons, but quality costs.

Why the droplinks and not the ARBs? Or was it just an alternative to replacing knackered droplinks with expensive Honda ones?

Sounds like coilovers are what you want.

Why just do the droplinks?

I'd look at the route Pie went for a first step.
Though the "wallow" is down to the rebound.
Interesting slightly longer drop links has improved it
If you want to get this just how you want the only real option is decent coilvers.

I can highley recommend Buddy Club coilovers, Ive had mine on for 6 weeks now and they are brilliant, soft enough for the road but very good on the track. I ran them at Croft and everyone said how planted the car look, the picture below is a perfect example of old OEM vs new buddyclubs, cars are the same year too

Not sounding daft but putting coilovers on I assume car is of course going to be lowered and is it a case of just fitting coilovers and getting them setup or do you have to fiddle aroound with the suspension bits arouond it too to prevent camber of wheels etc etc (Sorry I'm not very knowledgable aboout these things)

And does anyone have problems with sleeping policeman and scraping of the underneath as a result?

I am considering doing some sort of suspension mode but then again I am fairly happy with the standard setup and perhaps just get the geo done to optimise the factory setup

You'll need a geo. reset afterwards, as with any suspension work..

Lowering very slightly's fine, but you ought to invest in driveshaft spacers, adjustable toe-links and a raised steering rack mounts, to do the job properly.

Depends on your budget. If you've got the spare cash go for coilovers but a cheaper option would be just to get a set of 99-01 springs and shocks. This would stiffen up the back end as yours is one of the softest oem dampers. Also the front and rear arbs would help

Ok guys have been thinking about this for a while now.

So what do you recommend please:

Coilovers, driveshaft spacers, adjustable toe-links and raised steering rack mounts?

Is it necessary for all the above? And what are rack mounts?

Would appreciate a good explanatio if you have the time as am an idiot in suspension stuff!
