Nice one, thanks for all the replies. Think I need to get under the car and suss out which bits I really need and contact some of the suppliers that have been put forward. I like the idea of Spoon/Mugen bushes anyone have any idea how much a set of these will set me back, will be no probs getting them fitted as I have a great mechanic friend who always helps me out for a small charge of a nice roast dinner and a case of beer .

Seems like everything pops up when the wallet is looking empty. Noticed while I was cleaning it the other day that the rear tyres are near the limit. Managed too get a decent price on two Toyo's 119.00 quid fitted and balanced. What I save on tyres can go towards the bushes. Many thanks again best regards Leigh.

5 ? Luxury lad !!!

IIRC Bada Bing had this problem in regard to MOT a while back and it seemed the tester was being over zealous. He took it somewhere else in the end at it passed no problems.

Good point - MOT testers are quite arbitrary in my experience. I had one fail the bottom arm bush on my wife's Fiesta once but it didn't look so bad to me. So I cleaned up and painted the arm in situ' so it looked like new, then took it back for it to pass a retest (along with a couple of other repairs like anti-roll bar bushes - which were cheap and easy to replace). Passed OK (proving what a farce the MOT test is sometimes ).

I've now found a friendly local place where they "advise" on items like this and don't fail you for it - TTT.
