Default Suspension Bolts and Alignment

Just thought I share that I've just had the geometry set by the guys at WRC technologies, as recommended by someone on this board. I have to say so far I'm pleased with the results and they did an excellent job, but I won't really know until I get home and try the car on some roads I really know.

As for the suspension bolts I soaked them in PlusGas, then about a week later I took each bolt out, cleaned the bolt and greased them and the bush. Some were a bit difficult to remove but every bolt I took out had some form corrosion on it. I don't know if I was lucky and none were seized or if the Plusgas helped. For some of you that do have seized bolts plusgas might be worth a try.

Is plusgas like WD40?

I'd love to see pics of where these bolts and bushes are so I can be sure to look at them on my car!

Steven

Where have you placed the trolley jack to do this. I'm asking because I have to do the disks and pads soon and want to make sure I don't do any damage.

If you read the manual it shows you where the front and rear points are for jacking up the car.

I always use axle stands but also leave the jack under the car ..... just in case.

Yes the axle stands are pretty clear in the pic and I would do likewise. Will check the handbook don't have a workshop manual.

Thanks

Similar designed as a penetrating agent rather than all purpose lubricant.

Should be interesting to see how my 13 month old bolts look when I have them out over the weekend.

I have greased all suspension bolts from day1 - ideally, you should remove and grease the bolts but I just liberally coat with grease - stops ingress of water and moisture. Subsequently had no problems with the geo.

BTW - what did they charge you for the setup?

The one towards the right of the photo, at the end of the wishbone, is the one most likely to seize.
