I had no problem keeping up with 911 turbos at the Ring at the weekend in the twisties. I was usually slightly quicker. I won't pretend they didn't blow me away on the straights though...

Aside from what has already been written, it is any great surprise that the membership of <insert car forum> have rose-tinted glasses when it comes to comparing their prized marque against other "lesser" cars?

This forum and every other car forum I've ever seen has been the same. With the exception of a few objective individuals everyone considers their car to be the best thing since sliced bread and can't understand why everyone else who owns "inferior" cars doesn't agree.

It is the way of all things.

Hehe say what you want Pete but I know how 'real' 400bhp cars go like m8...

Like I said, I've raced Mikes S2K in my standard Supra, there wasnt much in it up to 100, I was pulling away from him as he sat behind me in my tail wind, but after that I started pulling away hard, maybe 5-7 car lengths at 130. Now against my m8s REAL 400bhp Supra that I tried to keep up with around the Nurburgring he left me for dust on the straights.

I suppose you keep up with 911 turbos and Modenas too right?
Its very possible that his car isnt as powerfull as he (says/thinks/was told by Abbey) I'm just telling it how it happened.

I've been against a standard JDM Auto in a EG6 Vti, 170 hp fully stripped, 900kg, the Supra was mariginally faster from 50 - 120+, but not enough to get past.

Thankyou please.

Agreed Durzel.

Lets either let this thread die, or bait the supra guys to say what they think about boxsters and then link that to boxanet, before skulking away and watching the fireworks from a corner.

Its all very tedious isnt it.

Sigh Im sure a stripped out Nova would be able to do the same m8.. whoopdee do! I'll keep to my Mercedes style luxury thanks. Stop moving the goal posts or trying to. Will your stripped out tin can hit 170+? No. Apples and pears.

Durzel you're right, its not a question of bragging about whos got the better car, I find its more defensive as people are defending why they purchased said car. No one likes to admit defeat with regard to anything about their prized possession do they? Its only natural.

BTW I used to play Quake 2 against you, Im sure
