Default Suppose I wanted an old reg

I quite fancy an old registration that would have been standard on an '85 car, but in all likelyhood the car that wore it could be scrap by now. Is there a way I can check if the car's still on the road, and if not how would I be able to obtain such a plate.

The plate I'm looking for is B404 BNG.

Just look on a Registration site to see if it is available.

The RAC site isn't completely reliable. It always says the reg for my Stag isn't in use. Mind you it's a 1970 reg.

Just head off to the DVLA.

You can stick any plate you like on a car provided it's a) not already on the road and b) it isn't newer than your car ...

and C) if registered to a car and the seller is willing to sell it to you then the doner car must have a valid MOT.
