If you can drive a good deal like that Paul then good luck to you.
Many people don't have the tenacity to drive dealer prices down like that, also it does help if you are able to deal directly like you have done.

a) it was a relatively small Honda dealership (that has recently moved to a huge site though).
b) I was driving the 'flagship' of the range (i.e. one available to all dealers)
c) excellent rapport with the service man
d) got to know the S2000 technician very early on
e) I'd lent them my ITR for a an evening open night display
f) I was getting oil changes much more regulary than required (but I had a source of free Mobil 1
g) and lastly my negotiating skills...
Its been much harder over the last 2 years to get in with the VW dealership & my Golf....use own oil and got discount on brake discs and pads at last MOT...but they made me work for it....can't tell you the service mans name while I still remember the Honda one...
Now the Golf is out of warranty I'm going independant to half the labour charge....

Just spoken with Service Manager.
Taking own plugs will not cause a problem, he even mentioned that he doesn't know why Honda are keeping the prices so high. I wonder if he's aware of this forum or even this thread
I'm happy and the Dealer seemed happy enough so

Right car was done on Saturday by Norton Way Honda.
Top job and came in at 103 quid for the 18000 mile service.
Supplied own diff oil and engine oil, neither being a problem for them.
They supplied the gearbox oil and I must say the gearbox is now much smoother.
Nick was his usual excellent self and the complimentary cold drink went down a treat.
They also were very helpful in following my requests re. screenwash and washing the car.
Off to fill in the DSS.
