Mark,
Sounds like you had a really fun day. The Noble DOES sound a fantastic car.
What did the instructor give as a reason for the diappointment with the 996?
Bagsy have the first passenger ride in your Noble when you get it!!!

Didn't actually give reasons as such, San. I suspect that "disappointment" isn't quite what he meant as such - I have no doubt that the 996 is also a great car, and I'd still love to own one.
I think what he was saying is that the Noble is as much fun to drive, as responsive and an equal in terms of performance (if not more so), but costs substantially less than a Porsche, particularly if you wanted the 996 Carrera 4 or 4S.
I assumed he was also saying that the Porsche might be a bit too "refined" in comparison, and therefore less of an out-and-out driver's car. I guess it would be more practical as a daily driver though - the Noble is mid-engined, so has precious little room in the boot, I'd imagine. There also didn't seem to be much room up front (if there is a front bonnet at all!).
I'll remember your bagsy, San Don't get holding your breath though - no bids for Jenny yet, so there's still a

Prestwold Hall is 5 minutes from me and i've often been up there on various events as a spectator. I've done courses with the Jim Russell racing school at Donnington but never at Prestwold. Interesting to hear your comments about the surface, it was always an issue when they had Caterhams, auto testing etc. up there so I guess they have listened.
Glad you enjoyed your day.
