Default Such a simple question.....

Have looked through the techincal thread but the bit about oil does not read that well to me and I am still unsure.

What oil do I need to top up with ?

My car has done 23,000 miles now....can I just use something like Castrol Magnatec 10/40 etc?

What rating do I need and does it have to be mineral ????

I belive this is covered in the tech FAQ. But I'll answer it here. I believe the manual states 0W30, but this can be hard to get hold of, so 0W40 can be used, Mobile1 seems to be popular.

Mobile1 is a fully synthetic oil, mineral is old required/recommended until the 1st service.

You need either Semi-Synthetic or Fully-Synthetic

Best thing to do is ask your dealer (the last people to service the car) exactly what they use. My local dealer use (semi-synthetic) Castrol GTX Magnatec.

I've used Helix Ultra (grey bottle) since I've had the car and it seems to run sweet as a nut.
