Default Sub choice help

I know there are plenty of topics on this and i have been reading many many of them.

Im new to the full sound system set-up, ive only ever done the odd headunit and speakers combo. certainly not afraid of a big job though! No matter how many i see and hear i know it will never compare to what it will sound like installed.

I currently have the focal k2p hooked up to the alpine pdx 4.100 amp, leaving me 200 watts RMS for a sub. I like the idea of a footwell installation for minimum noise attenuation but if someone can convince me otherwise im open to options.

What i want to achieve is a rich well balanced noise to offset the sharp noise of the focals. I can only compare to the Bose setup my A6 had which was a awesome system for full noise.

I would put this in the electronics section but i know 80% of options would be for fosgate subs and other only available in america options!

cheers for the options chaps!

Bass is not directional so you could fit something in the boot .... or perhaps one of the low height compact sub assemblies behind one of the rear seats. Plenty of folk on the US side build custom footwell enclosures though

a darkside sub enclosure works well. Lovegroova has one is saves valuable space in the boot due it being side mounted.

I have a custom made enclosure housing a JL Audio sub which sets in the tool box void. Its driven by a Fosgate P300-1 mono amp. The bass from the unit is suprising good and punchy when it needs to be.

Personally I don't think you need more than a 10" sub in the S.

ill try to message him...

I've seen darkside subs and like his approach, i would most likely make my own as i have access to some awesome workshops that make most things in return for biscuits and cake...

Still dont have an idea what is good ad what is not though!

I was goingo to do footwell but the sub i have and want to use is to big really is a lack of space there, Am now putting in the boot floor, will line it all with aquatic lining first. i was thinking about redoing the boot carpet in red to mach the front as i have load left.
Was also going to fit 6x9 on the soft top shelf. think its a bit ricer ?

The sub I have is an £80 Alpine 10", and it's more than fine allied with my JL 250/1 amp.

Given your relatively low amp power output, I'd not go for anything too fancy as you probably don't have enough juice to drive it properly.

Something like this would probably do you perfectly well: http://www.caraudiod...e-swg-1044.html Nice shallow mount too if you wanted to put it in the footwell.

Here's a great thread on footwell subs: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/841...-installation/

You'll upset your weight distribution with a heavy sub!

Awesome i saw this one but due to lack of experience didn't know what i was dealing with. i know im running quite low power, im only after added depth as opposed to punch so something like this looks good
